Privacy Policy

Suwasara Gee Dahana is an annual charity concert that raises funds for kidney patients across Sri Lanka. This policy covers the public website at suwasarageedahana.com (and related preview domains we operate).

We are based in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Questions about this policy can be sent to info@suwasarageedahana.lk or WhatsApp 077 017 4711 or Head office +94 11 268 0051.

We only collect information you choose to give us, plus limited technical data:

• Newsletter. Your email address, so we can send concert dates, ticket releases, and impact stories.
• Donations. Your name, email, donation amount, currency, the concert year, and any message you add. We do not store payment card numbers on this website.
• Stories. The name you want credited, your comment, a star rating, and an optional photo. Stories we publish appear on the site with that name and photo.
• Seatmap. Temporary seat selections while you browse. These holds are not tied to your identity on this website.
• Account. If you register, we store your name, email, an optional phone number, and a hashed password so you can log in and update your profile. If you continue with Google, we receive your name and verified email from Google. We do not receive your Google password.
• Usage data. Pages visited, device and browser type, and approximate location, collected through Google Analytics.
• Security. When you subscribe, donate, submit a story, or hold seats, we keep a short log of that action, the time, and the network address. Email addresses in that log are stored as a fingerprint, not the address itself.

We use this information to:

• Send the newsletter you subscribed to, and stop when you ask us to.
• Record donations, send receipts on request, and report impact of the concert.
• Review and, if appropriate, publish stories you submit.
• Understand how the site is used and improve it.
• Limit repeated submissions and review unusual activity on forms and the seat map.
• Respond to messages you send us.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for unrelated marketing.

This site uses a small amount of storage on your device:

• A session cookie (suwasara-intro) so the opening animation plays only once per visit.
• Local storage for your light or dark theme (theme) and the concert year you last viewed (concert-year).
• Google Analytics cookies, used to measure site traffic.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser. The site still works; theme and year preferences, and the intro animation, may reset.

We share information only with people and services that help us run the concert and this website:

• Our organisers and volunteers who need it to process donations or stories.
• Hosting and infrastructure providers (including Cloudflare) that store and deliver the site.
• Google, for analytics.
• Payment providers, if you complete a donation or ticket purchase through a linked payment service. Those providers handle card and bank details under their own policies. We receive confirmation of the payment, not your full card number.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the concert, our sponsors, or the public.

Newsletter addresses stay until you unsubscribe. Donation records are kept for as long as we need them for receipts, accounting, and reporting on funds raised. Published stories stay on the site until you ask us to remove them or we take them down. Analytics data is kept according to Google Analytics settings. Technical logs are kept only as long as needed to operate and secure the site.

You can ask us to:

• Send you a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
• Correct information that is wrong.
• Delete your newsletter subscription, donation contact details, or a story.
• Stop using your information for the newsletter.

Email info@suwasarageedahana.lk with your request. We may need to confirm it is you before we act. Some records, such as donation amounts needed for accounts, may be kept even after we remove your contact details.

This website is not directed at children. Do not submit a story, photo, or other information about a child unless you are their parent or guardian and you agree to this policy. If you believe we have published a child’s information without proper consent, contact us and we will remove it.

We may update this policy when the site or the law changes. The date at the top of this page is the latest version. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
